Driving Directions

To Southside Shelter: Take Township Road 218 to Township Road 229, turn south on Township Road 229. After crossing the first bridge, turn right into shelter house parking lot. To Nature Center Shelter: From park entrance, follow road and take first left. Follow road until you see Nature Center on right hand side of the road. To Van Buren Shelter: Follow road into Van Buren State Park. Take the first left and shelter house is to the right.

Cancellation/Transfer Policy
For changes or cancellations, please contact the reservation center at 1-866-644-6727. You may also cancel your reservation online by logging on to your account and viewing reservation details. Changes or cancellations made up to the close of business 15 days or more prior to your arrival date will result in the loss of the $8.25 reservation fee for each reservation. Changes or cancellations made 14 days or less prior to your scheduled arrival date will result in the loss of the rental fee and the $8.25 reservation fee. If you cancel a reservation, the cancelled facility will not be available for reservation until 7am the following morning when new inventories are released. For changes and cancellations of reservations paid by credit card, you will be required to verify the card number. If you reserve a day use facility for the first day it is available for a reservation, you may not make any changes to that reservation, except for the number of occupants, so long as the maximum capacity of the facility is not exceeded.

GIFT CARD	GUESTS WHO CANCEL A RESERVATION MAY BE OFFERED THEIR REFUND IN THE FORM OF AN OHIO STATE PARK GIFT CARD, WHICH MAY BE USED FOR FUTURE RESERVATIONS OR AS CASH AT ANY OHIO STATE PARK RETAIL LOCATION AND SELECT CONCESSION OPERATED LOCATIONS.
NO SHOW POLICY	FAILURE TO ARRIVE ON THE DATE OF A RESERVATION DOES NOT CONSTITUTE GROUNDS FOR A REFUND. FEES FOR THE UNUSED RESERVATION WILL BE FORFEITED.
OPEN FIRES	NO FIRES ARE PERMITTED EXCEPT IN DESIGNATED AREAS.
PET INFORMATION	PETS MUST REMAIN ON A LEASH AT ALL TIMES. PETS MUST BE ATTENDED AT ALL TIMES.
RULES	ALL PARK RULES APPLY TO THE DAY USE AREAS.
SPECIFIC INFORMATION	THERE ARE 10-12 TABLES AT EACH SHELTER. SHELTERS HAVE (3) WAIST HIGH GRILLS AS WELL AS A LARGE FIRE PIT. VOLLEYBALL NET AND HORSESHOES AVAILABLE IF REQUESTED.
